Everybody’s life is different,

but there are people that I do have a quite a bit in common with. So, if you have some things in common with me, then I hope all goes well for you because not all events are good or happy. But for those events that are good and happy, keep going and have fun with life. I am sixteen years old and I was born in Wyoming. For the most part I’ve lived a pretty decent life. I was abused early in life up until about two years ago. I have never known or met my biological father. I do however have an adopted father. He adopted me when I was eleven. My mom is my mom and always has been. My adopted father has been in my life since I was about three years old. I grew up a little bit and started going to church. I was baptized when I was eight. My adopted dad and my little brother were, too. My brother is now ten years old. It was seventh grade and I started doing sports. I love football, wrestling, and track. I also do drama. Throughout seventh grade I was getting into a lot of trouble. I was doing many things I shouldn’t. I had started smoking and was extremely mouthy to the teachers. I was also getting into fights with other students and starting to experiment with drugs. In mid-August, my mom, brother, and I left my adopted father. My family and I moved. I had also gotten into a bit of trouble. Because of all the trouble I was sent to a residential treatment center. I also got into trouble there. I was not progressing and did not finish my program.. So, in return I was transitioned to (a different treatment center). When I complete my program and treatment successfully, I want to graduate high school and college.

The Forest

I picked a photo of a burned forest and a grove of aspens changing for winter because a forest can represent so many things. The burned forest represents to me my downfalls and destructive behaviors and attitudes. So much can be ruined in a matter of hours or even minutes. The grove of aspens represents just how beautiful and elegant the same object can be. Forests can be huge and powerful, but yet, can also be small and unappealing. The grove of aspens represents to me that even though I can be mean and unappealing, that after time I can be awesome and strong. I can be a beautiful thing and make a difference.

Thomas Edison

Ripples

The ripples represent not only me but many others. It represents what has happened to me and my friends and my family. My trouble has affected everyone around me. It has the ripple effect. If I don’t do anything about it will get so big that it will ruin my life.

The Cross

The cross represents God. No matter how rugged it may be, God has still helped me through my problems.
